How one email ended up with three friends running 190 miles and taming the Thames.
Towards the end of 2018 I sent an email to my tent mates from the Marathon des Sables 2015 saying, “Hey guys, do you know the Thames is 184 miles long? Who wants to run it?” Within minutes, one of our eight, Fabrice, replied and threw his hat into the ring. Next came a big ‘Yes’ from Becs. By the end of the day, three others signed up. And the challenge to run the length of the River Thames from its source to the Thames Barrier, was born.
In the end due to injuries, only three off us set off on our incredible journey along one of the world’s most famous rivers. This would be the furthest any of us had run in one multi-stage challenge. And we had no idea whether we’d make it or what the path in front of us would hold. We soon found out.

Support Sam’s Charity
We ran in support of one of our tent mates, Sam, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer. True to his incredible strength of character, Sam has been raising money and awareness for Children With Cancer. If you’ve been inspired by our run you can donate here.
