Polar Grit X vs Vantage V: The multi-tester verdict

Polar Grit X vs Vantage V

The Polar Grit X is the first watch in Polar’s line-up with serious trail, ultra and adventure aspirations. It comes with anti-bonking fuelling alerts, hill splitter climb and descent segmentation and Komoot-powered turn-by-turn navigation. But it also has a very similar feature set to its predecessor, the Polar Vantage. Throw in a recommended price tag that’s cheaper, a battery life that’s longer on paper, and it’s inevitably going to draw comparisons. So which one should you buy? Hit play on the Polar Grit X vs Polar Vantage V head-to-head below, to find out which watch myself and fellow Run Testers, Nick and Mike, would choose first.

We’ve all spent lots of time with these watches and we found it quite a touch call to make. There’s really not much to choose between them but in this video we get into the detail of what’s different, what’s better on each watch and each give our verdict on which we think suits our running needs best.

So whether you’re a seasoned ultra runner, a serial city marathoner or you’re just starting to get interested in running off road, we hope this can help you work out which Polar running watch is best for you. And we only mention Garmin a few times.
